Draven’s Mixtape
1994 saw the release of The Crow in movie theaters and for the folks who loved dark music, The soundtrack to that film was one of the most splendid to ever come out to this day. Distortion Productions is proud to present the next installment in the Electronic Saviors series: Draven’s Mixtape. This is more than just a simple tribute album but a way for the artists as well as the fans to enjoy their love of the movie as well as the many great songs reimagined here. Revel in Cocksure’s rendition of The Cure’s “Burn” or Leather Strip’s collab with Red Lokust and Tragic Impulse on “After the Flesh'“ by My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult. Go Fight’s rendition of Big Empty by the Stone Temple Pilots and Null Device’s version of Color Me Once by the Violent Femmes just goes to show that the current scene has as much to offer now as ever.
Once again, Electronic Saviors artistic mastermind, Jeff Confer returns to his craft to deliver a stunning piece of cover art and interior work of this 6 panel digipak release.
Draven’s Mixtape goes a long way to show how much the scene and it’s artists still have respect for the The Crow movie, the original comic by James O’Barr and the memory of Brandon Lee.
This album was excellently mastered by Eric Oehler/Submersible Studios.
Proceeds from Draven’s Mixtape will be donated to cancer research.
